Directions From Cancun
This map shows the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan between Tulum and Belize.
For a map of the whole Yucatan click
here.
Though public transportation does exist to Majahual, you will need to rent
a vehicle to visit our property and to drive to your hotel at your convenience.
Plan to arrive in Cancun by noon if you want to drive to Majahual the same day.
It is not advisable to drive at night on your first visit.
From Cancun take route 307 south through Tulum and Felipe Carrillo
Puerto. This will take about 2 hours. Continue on down 307 to Los
Limones.
Pass through the village of Limones and watch for the sign for
Mahahual at Cafetal several kilometers south of town. You will see
the new road out to the coast. Turn left here onto the highway to
the coast.
Drive east about 50 kilometers to the checkpoint 5km from Mahahual.
You will need to stop here. About a kilometer furhter on you will
see a big sign for Tampalan at a left turn. Turn left here. This
is the new paved road that heads north up the coast. This new paved
road parallels the old beach road shown on the map, several miles
inland.
Just past the 9 km raod marker on the paved road there is a sign
saying Rio Indio. and a dirt road on the right. Turn to the right
here, towards the ocean. Drive down this road 0.4 kilometers until
you get to the coast. At this point your need to turn RIGHT and
go 0.5 kilometers down the coast on a little side road not shown
on the map.
Watch for the white house with the pink trim shown to the LEFT.
This will be your landmark for finding this lot.
The lot is directly to the south of this house. It has 25 meters
(82 ft) of beachfront and extends inland 80 mts (262 ft) from the
beach to the road. The lot is 2000 sq. mts - approximately 1/2 acre.
We recommend staying in the area for at least a night. There are
several good hotels in the area:
Mayan Beach Garden:
Closest to the Rio Indio lot
Balumku: 3 km south of Mahahual
